ART2102 presents
the last in a series of collaborations with new generations
of alternative spaces and projects in Los Angeles. ART2102
has been extending its status as a non-profit and beneficiary
of grants to several of these smaller experimental spaces,
while generating and increasing their exposure through ART2102's
communication networks and support systems. More

Flawless Sabrina (aka Jack
Doroshow) is a legendary queen-mother/oracular-shaman/artist
who has been performing and organizing talent since 1959.
She revolutionized the UNITED STATES with pop-up drag balls
("from the Mississippi to the Ozarks") in the
50's and 60's at a time when cross dressing was a felony
in many states. In 1968, after enduring raids, spending
nights (dressed) in jails, and being escorted to countless
state borders, she was the subject of the documentary "The
Queen," which screened at Cannes Festival and brought
her world wide recognition. Counting among her community
archetypes Monique, Dorian Corey, Crystal La Beija, Mario
Montez, Rachael Harlow, and International Chrysis, Sabrina
has been a fierce visionary inspiration to the queer community
and art world. Today Sabrina lives, performs, and writes
in New York City.

Wildness is a club and
performance series that happens every Tuesday at the Silver
Platter. As a collective body we are brown queer trans creative
people, working together with the Silver Platter to produce
a night of music, dancing and live art. We've been organizing
since February 2008, to offer a creative platform and dialog
between our intersecting LBGT/POC/artist communities. Our
event is free and self-sustaining. Our mission is to invent
new ways visualizing, physically experiencing and talking
about complex identity politics that surround our queer
lived experience, through late night art-making and partying.
Wildness would not be possible with out the profound support,
collaboration, and labor of love from SP's owner Gonzalo
Ramirez and crew: Kokie Corral, Nicol dela Rocha, and Javier
Vargas.
